Otro año más Hoteles RH ha colaborado con la Fundación Vicente Ferrer. Por ello, hoy queremos contaros la importancia que tiene esta fundación y como una pequeña aportación hace una grandísima diferencia.
¿Qué es la Fundación Vicente Ferrer?
Se creó en la India en 1969 con el objetivo de buscar soluciones a los graves problemas a los que se enfrentaba la comunidad rural de Anantapur. Desde entonces, funciona como un organismo de fuerte implantación social, respetuoso con el entorno y promotor de la transformación que se está produciendo en la región.
Su misión es erradicar la pobreza extrema en la India a través del desarrollo de proyectos y de las acciones necesarias para enfrentarse a las necesidades de las comunidades más desfavorecidas, tocando temas como la educación, sanidad y ecología entre otros.
Por nuestra parte, Hoteles RH hemos participado anteriormente en el proyecto de la construcción de estructuras hídricas para la recogida y aprovechamiento de agua de lluvia en la región de Uravakonda y en la preparación de la mujer en la India rural.
Este año hemos aportado nuestro grano de arena al programa nutricional para niños menores de cuatro años, madres gestantes y lactantes, huérfanos, ancianos y enfermos crónicos. Se les proporciona un suplemento alimenticio a base de huevos y una bebida de cereal (ragi) y azúcar de caña, que les aporta proteína, calcio y hierro.
¿Donde actúa?
Cubre 3.093 pueblos y beneficia a casi tres millones de personas, trabajando en el estado de Andhra Pradesh y en algunas de las comunidades más desfavorecidas y excluidas del sistema de castas indio: dálits, grupos tribales y backward castes, con el objetivo de proporcionar soporte económico y humano al proyecto de desarrollo global y de mejora de las condiciones de vida de los miembros de la comunidad dálit en Anantapur, India.
¿Quién son los dálits?
Se les considera sin casta. Históricamente se les ha condenado a realizar los trabajos más serviles y humillantes de la sociedad. En la India rural, los dálits constituyen una comunidad marginada: su trabajo como jornaleros, escasamente remunerado e irregular, impide su acceso a unas condiciones de vida dignas.
La fundación comparte un sueño con la empresa basado en la filosofía de la acción y el compromiso con los más necesitados y estamos encantados de haber colaborado con ellos.
Esta fundación demuestra que con muy poco se puede llegar muy lejos y que con la colaboración de todos se pueden cambiar las vidas de las personas.
